The scientific committee invites researchers from around the world to submit abstracts for presentation at our 2019 Congress on Motion Sickness in Akureyri, Iceland. The meeting will feature a wide range of exciting talks, discussions, and networking opportunities with experts and researchers in the field of motion sickness.

The congress will be a forum to present the best scientific research, touching all aspects of motion sickness as well as sharing knowledge with interested colleagues. We encourage investigators at all career stages to submit one or more abstracts. Abstract deadline is 1st of May 2019.

Abstracts submitted by the deadline will be peer reviewed. Acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. Abstracts may be considered for oral presentation or poster presentation based on authors interest in each of these opportunities, and indicated when completing the online submission form.

Oral Presentation – Authors will be selected (on the basis of their interest or abstract topic and quality) to give a 15 min. oral presentation about their research using either Power Point or Key Note software. Authors giving an oral presentation will not be expected to present a poster.

Poster Presentation – Based on their interest, authors of accepted abstracts are invited to present a poster. When preparing your poster, please keep the dimensions within 120 cm  tall by 90 cm wide (40 inches by 40 inches), size the title and the text so it can be read from several yards away (approximately 60 point font for the title and 24-36 point font for the body text), avoid large sections of text, and use images, charts, figures and bulleted lists when possible.

Publications – Accepted abstracts will be listed and available on the congress website. Further publication in MedLine listed journal is planned.

All abstracts must be received through the online abstract submission form before the deadline. All submissions must include:

  • A clear and concise abstract in English.
  • A title (formatted in Title Case, not UPPERCASE).
  • A list of all authors using their full name.
  • Institution affiliations for each author.
  • One author indicated with bold letter case who will present the abstract at the congress.
  • References (up to five) using Vancouver format.
  • The composition of the abstract in not more than 300 words must divided into:
    • Background/introduction including aims.
    • Methodology(ies) and method(s) undertaken.
    • Results.
